The truth about catskiing
Sometimes the snow conditions suck and snow stability suck. We cancelled this weekend due to poor snow conditions and poor stability. Our policy when we cancel is to issue a full refund on the catskiing. On average over the last 6 years we have cancelled two days a season. It's hard for everyone but it's always the right decision. The typical conditions when we might cancel would be too much snow and too warm creating a double whammy of poor skiing conditions and high instability in the snowpack. Skiing at Whitewater or Red Mountain is usually a better alternative in this situation. We don't need lots of snow catskiing because we don't have the high skier traffic breaking down the powder like at a ski area. That is why we every day of catskiing at Wildhorse is likely to be your best day of skiing. No picture included because no-one needs a picture of skiing elephant snot.

The boys from Catskiing.ca
These guys have the dream job - cruising around catskiing operations photographing themselves skiing powder. They do a great job so all the power to them. We were skiing together last week. If you are on facebook check this photo collection out.
